Blue Run

Another beautiful day on the mountain!

 The thing about Alice's ski instructor, Elliot, is that Elliot knows how to push his students.  He knows the exact moment when each student is ready to be challenged, ready to be pushed right out of their comfy cozy comfort zone... and on to a blue run!

We mastered the green runs of Chair Two, so it was on to Chair Three first thing this morning.   We easily swooshed down the green runs there and on our last run of the class, Elliot casually mentioned that he thought we were ready for Border - a blue run off of Chair Three.   Ummmhhh.. sure, Elliot.  We can do that.   And, we did!

This afternoon, class was over but we met up with our friends Shannon and Julia and we continued to challenge ourselves as we mastered Border and then moved on to Chair Four.

Chair Four was... wow!  So different than the easy runs off Chair Two.   We took Big Creek, a nice easy green run, but we also took Sneaky Pete, another blue run.  

We loved Sneaky Pete!  It was such an awesome run.   However, at the end of Sneaky Pete, you end up on the "cat tracks" - there were skiers and boarders moving at lightning speed, boarders flying off huge cliffs which ran perpendicular to the trail we were on, and... guys smoking pot on the lift in front of us!   It's true.  Shannon and I told the girls not to inhale.

Oh, and one more thing.  Chair Four was really, really steep.

The other bonus to going on Chair Three and Four?   We got to see Henry!   Finally.   Riding on Chair Two, Alice and I never ran across the Race team - but today, we got to see Henry in action.   At one point, his coach had him going down the hill on one ski - to perfect his balance.   Wow.    We also saw him tearing down some moguls.  My kids are awesome.

Henry told me that next time we're up there, he'd like to take us on "Death Star."   Huh.   We'll see about that.
