The wait this year has been excruciating - counting down the days, the hours, the minutes has been mighty tough on two very excited children - including one who supposedly has this whole Santa thing figured out. However, as a good friend recently said: "The closer it gets to Christmas, the more my children believe in Santa."
It's a good thing my children get to open some presents on Christmas Eve - waiting til tomorrow morning would have been impossible. We had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner of meat pie, cleaned up dishes, went for a drive to enjoy (well, the grown-ups enjoyed it - the kids were bouncing around the car going nuts) the holidays lights, and then home to open family presents.
My favorite present was Henry's gift to Alice - a pillow pet she's been hoping for for a long time. She was thrilled.
They each received so many fantastic gifts. Alice loves her Barbies, horses, hair accessories, Wii Just Dance III, Wii Sing It (with microphone!!), and more.
Henry loves his RC helicopters (yes, he got two of them!), board games, camping gear, Legos, leather wallet, and model kits.
Alice received the skiing Barbie. I'm not sure who loves her more - Alice or me. I'm lying. I am sure. It's me. Is this the coolest Barbie ever, or what???
Watching Alice play Sing It, with her rocker hat and microphone made it a fantastic Christmas Eve!
Now I just have to get Henry and Dan to stop flying the helicopters and Alice to stop playing with her Barbies so the kids can get to bed and Santa can make a stop at our house.
Merry Christmas Eve!
