The Company Picnic

This afternoon we went to Dan's company picnic. We had a great time! There were so many neat things for the kids to do (there were even clowns - not the scary kind, the nice kind!), great food, lots of desserts (kids were thrilled), beautiful weather, interesting people to talk to, and a fun time had by all.

One of the first things Alice did was get her face painted. She requested that the clown paint her face like a princess.

Then another clown was blowing up balloons. Other kids were requesting balloons shaped like cowboy hats, flowers, kitty cats..... Alice requested that he make a balloon rat. And he did... Yes, she does love rats! Henry reluctantly got a spiderman balloon - wasn't sure if he wanted one. Note the big bouncy house in the background - that was lots of fun! There was a big slide in it and the kids spent a lot of time there.

Then we moved on to the t-shirt table. The kids got to paint a shirt to take home. Very cool.

Enjoying dinner....

There were so many desserts. We had to cut Henry off after four! Alice just ate frosting.

Nearby is a historical home which has a lovely garden around it. We had fun walking through the garden and enjoying the flowers.

A big veggie garden too. We may have to come back here for our pumpkin this year! Then we moved on to the dahlia display. It really is beautiful. I had such fun taking photos in this garden. Dahlias are meant to be photographed!
Alice was demonstrating that this one was as big as her head!

Okay, Alice was ready to go. She had had enough of our big afternoon at the company picnic!
One last parting shot....
