Alice attended a birthday party for her friend Lauren this afternoon. It was a pirate theme party and the girls all had great fun - they created swords, exploded some cannon balls, took a walk down the plank, went on a treasure hunt where they found the best stuff imaginable for young pirates (bead necklaces, jewels, rings, and gold coins), went for a swim with sharks (no really - they went swimming and there was a shark!), and enjoyed a very cool treasure chest birthday cake. What a day!
Alice's birthday party this year was a princess party and we went all out with fun decorations and princess games. It was great fun. Now I know I've met my match with Lauren's mom - another mom who knows it's just as important for her to have fun as the kids! :-)
