It Must Be Summer...

It must be summer if the kids are in swim lessons. Indeed, this is an annual event that we all look forward to. They get to swim and have fun at an outdoor pool (outdoor pools are rare in our neck of the woods); I get to lounge on the chairs and relax. It's lovely!

The kids both took private swim lessons this Spring at an indoor pool, and they started wearing goggles. They both really like them and I think Alice feels more confident with them on. Not to mention how fashionable they are! Very cool. I managed to get a photo of both of them on the diving board at the same time! One of the fun things about this 10 day program is that they go off the board by the 2nd day. Henry loves it every time he's up there; Alice, not so much.
She walks out there. But she'd really prefer not to dive. She enjoys jumping from the side of the pool and is great at it. But diving with hands first then head, body, legs - not her favorite pool experience. She is a great swimmer though! The private lessons this Spring really paid off. I'm so proud of her. For this program, her skill level allowed her to be in a group with older kids. Check out how much bigger these boys are than my little peanut!

Diving is all about the form. Head down.
Bend the knees.
And a near-perfect dive!
The favorite part of swim lessons? The cannon ball throw at the end.
