Today, Alice decided she's going to be a biologist when she grows up. Or a hematologist (blood clots are fascinating!). Or a people doctor or animal doctor. But definitely a career in the sciences...
We dissected an owl pellet this afternoon. Interesting stuff! I bought the pellet for Henry for his birthday, but Alice was much more interested than he was - he was distracted with so many other fun things to do on a Spring day. Here's what the pellet looked like in the beginning.
Alice thought this was so intriguing. She even had to get the ant microscope to look closer at all the little mouse bones.

She meticulously looked at each little bone and piece of mouse fur.
Henry came in at the end. He had been outside - smearing dandelions on his face, riding his skateboard, and playing catch - not all at the same time, of course.
But he did take a break long enough to check out the owl pellet.
We even found the little jaw bones with teeth intact.
Science is cool!
