It's Mother's Day so I got to plan the day. We drove down to Whistle Lake and took a hike, had a picnic, and enjoyed the outdoors together.
Whistle Lake is a cute little lake. It was very peaceful there and we pretty much had the trails to ourselves. 
During the summer, people dive off these cliffs into the lake. Just as I pocketed my camera after this shot, two eagles soared right over our heads, very low. They were beautiful. And they were chatting to eachother in that very distinct eagle voice.
Lots of cool madrona trees around the lake.
Now we're home and relaxing. I feel like I should throw a load of laundry in the wash, but just can't quite bring myself to do that on Mother's Day! There's always tomorrow.
