School starts in just over two weeks and we're trying to pack in all sorts of activities to take advantage of the last days of summer. Today, we headed down to Deception Pass and had a fantastic afternoon!

The sky was blue, the temperature was perfect, and the beach was beautiful.

Our friends, Erin and Kyle, came along with us. We had so much fun with them.

The kids had a great time climbing on the rocks, in and out of the crevices.

The water was numbingly cold. Seriously. But that did not stop the kids. They went right in.

To warm up, we played in the sand. For hours. Alice was a mermaid.

The boys were sand monsters.

Ahhhh... The Sand Monster woke up!

And then they dug and dug and dug.

And dug some more.

And some more.

The boys hauled some driftwood in from the water. And then they hauled it back out to the water.

When it was time to go home, all three kids were covered in sand from head to toe.

It was a perfect summer day at the beach!
