This year, the annual Night Hike around Lake Padden took place after the end of Daylight Savings Time. Meaning... it was really dark. Not just dark at the end, but also dark before we even started. It was a Night Hike though - so what do you expect?
However, it was also cold and rainy. I'd like to say that that didn't stop my fearless Daisy Girl Scouts, but alas, it did stop five of the eight! Yes, all eight registered to attend, and we ended up with three of the girls at the hike. That's okay though - those three had a blast.

Annika, Alice, and Avery were joined by Avery's cousin, Bella, who fit right in. The four were very excited for the hike. We sang lots of Girl Scout songs and used our trusty flashlights to lead us around the lake.
There were several stations to stop at during this pirate-themed Night Hike. The girls did a blind pirate sword fight, they shot pistols (Nerf guns), followed a map to find a treasure chest of doubloons, and walked the plank (which, oddly enough, was a lot like cross country skiing).
After 2.5 miles, we made it around and were rewarded with hot dogs, popcorn, and much-appreciated hot cocoa. The girls did a great job!
Dan and Henry made it around with Henry's Cub Scout troop. A little wet in the end, but they too had a fun hike.
