A Lovely Fall Day

We woke up early and made a spontaneous decision to head up to Mt. Baker. It's the last weekend of September, blue skies, a lovely Fall day, and Dan's Mom had never been there. We didn't need any other excuses to leave town and head for the mountains.

Now Dan's Mom will know what we're talking about when we describe our camping trips, hikes, and Henry's adventures in skiing up on the hill. Alice and her Grandma had a great time together this week.
And when Henry slowed down for a minute, he had a great time with Grandma too. At home, it's hard to get him to come in from biking and playing with friends - even to spend time with Grandma.

Daddy's girl. We had fun walking around on some of the trails up at the top.
We sent Henry on a run around the trails, as fast as he could, five times round. He got a little winded, but it did him good.
We then drove down a ways and walked around Picture Lake. We found lots of mountain blueberries and enjoyed the afternoon snack. Also came upon these cool looking mushrooms. But no snacking; they looked... odd. Possibly poisonous?
All in all, a lovely Fall day. Dan's Mom went home this evening on the train. We really had a great time with her this week and hope she enjoyed it as much as we did.
