We took off bright and early this morning for our summer vacation. The kids were excited for the flights and to get to Sedona, Arizona to meet up with family. 
Funny airplane story... Alice and I were sitting next to eachother. She sniffed a little, so I leaned over and asked her, "Do you want a Kleenex?" She looked up at me and said, "Why did you ask me if I want a penis?" The guy next to me had a hard time stifling his laughter.

Dry, hot, big city. However, when we got our rental car and headed north to Sedona, we were amazed. Still hot, thought not as hot as Phoenix. The amazing part was the beauty. Huge red rocks and breathtaking vistas. What a beautiful part of Arizona!
We met up with my parents and my brother and his family. My sister-in-law's parents and brother were also there. The cousins had a great time catching up. Here's Evan and Alice enjoying some cousin-time. 
As we quickly discovered, there were Desert Grassland Whiptail Lizards everywhere. The kids had fun pointing them out to us on every trip to and from the pool. The first day, they were a little freaky. But in no time at all, we were all used to seeing them everywhere we went. No harm and they were actually amusing to watch as they did their little push-ups to show aggression.
Little trivia... The Desert Grassland Whiptail Lizards are unisexual, meaning they don't need to mate in order to reproduce. Every Whiptail you see is a female; there are no males in the species. These Lizards lay a clutch of one to four eggs without ever mating. And let me tell ya - they were everywhere!
