Gingerbread And High Winds

This evening, we made our annual visit to the Port to view the gingerbread displays. It's always such fun to see the amazing talent and creativity which is in great abundance in our community.

This one was amazing! It's from the movie, "Up!" It was entered in the "professional" category. A tree fort. This was one was in the 5 yr old and younger category. Wow!
This one was cool. I think it was called Snowball Scene. There were little snowforts built out of sugar cubes. It was really cute.
A laptop!
Pirate ship. A more traditional gingerbread house. The Christmas Castle was incredible. Very impressive. Taxi cab. Nice... The Whatcom County Museum. It was quite large. My favorite... This cute little cottage was so wonderful. I wanted to open the door and go on inside. After viewing the gingerbread displays, our annual tradition is to go see the Lighted Boat Parade on Bellingham Bay. However... it was canceled tonight due to high winds. We looked out on the Bay and it was really choppy. Can't blame them for cancelling, but we were disappointed not to see the parade. Oh well.. at least there was a Lighted Boat Parade gingerbread display this year!
