This weekend is our big holiday kick-off. The first, and most exciting, event was our annual trip to an Olde Fashioned Christmas at Pioneer Park.
We visited all the historic log cabins. In the one-room school house, Henry and Alice wrote their letters to Santa. Alice was direct and to the point - she asked for a Baby Alive doll and a glitter ball.
Henry, on the other hand, went on and on. He wants a DS, and this Wii game and that Wii game, and, and, and... But he did wish Santa a Merry Christmas and said that he hopes Santa enjoys the cookies on Christmas Eve. That was a nice touch.
Several of the log cabins had activities for the kids. They made cut-out cookies, visited with some huge draft horses, created a little reindeer and an ornament, and we all had fun looking around at the historic artifacts from our region.
Loved this great gingerbread house. It depicts one of the log cabins.
