Cub Scout Camp-Out

Another year and another Cub Scout Camp-Out. This annual family event is always fun.

Henry crossed over from a Wolf Scout to a Bear Scout.

It's nice that it's a family camping event - the siblings always have a great time.

Before dinner, Alice and I made it down to the beach near the campsite. Although not the big low tide we had last year, it was still fun to explore the beach for awhile.

Meanwhile, back at camp... the merry go round was getting a work out! Just how many Scouts and siblings can you fit on one merry go round? I believe they were trying to set a record.

Then we were ready for the ceremony. Henry received several belt loops, pins, and patches. Throughout the ceremony, we were entertained by skits - a well-loved Cub Scout tradition. Henry and Rome did a skit this year which was pretty darn funny.

As it started to get dark, we got the big fires going and the marshmallows roasted. A perfect golden brown...

Most of the families made it to their tents somewhere around 10:30 or 11:00pm. This is 6:50am this morning. Oh look - the boys are on the merry go round!

We enjoyed some pancakes, packed up our sites, and the Scouts did a garbage run through camp. It was a fun overnight.

And a great way to spend Father's Day morning.
