Must Be Boating Season

We awoke this morning to a beautiful blue sky and the warmest day yet this year. We had all sorts of plans for the day which were quickly set aside when we realized it was a much better idea to go boating! We invited some friends over and while Dan and Dallas tinkered with the battery and some electrical stuff on the boat, Heather and I took the kids to the beach to enjoy the -2.9 low tide. The kids had fun digging.
There's something about that first really warm day of the summer...
But we didn't dig for long... The cell phone rang, the guys had the boat ready to go, and we packed up and drove to meet them at the lake. Ahhh... Lake Whatcom... we're back!

The water was freezing, brisk, and mind-numbing cold. Fortunately, we bought wet suits for everyone this past Christmas and they kept us slightly warmer than if we didn't have wet suits. Slightly. Alice and I had fun testing the water while sitting on the tube.
Henry and Rome did the same.
But it didn't take long... Alice was the first one in, and then all the other kids followed. It wasn't so bad once you got used to it. Yeah, right. Henry was even brave enough to jump in.
So glad to be back on the water! We had a great time and look forward to a summer filled with more time on the lake.
