Henry attended the Cub Scout "All American Sports" Twilight Camp this week and he had a blast. We're lucky to have such a beautiful setting for Scout camp right here in town.
This evening was family night. We enjoyed a picnic and then got to go around to the various stations to get a feel for the fun Henry had this week at camp. The obstacle course was one of Henry's favorites.
I thought the Marshmallow Crossbow was cool. They actually used a real bow and arrow at camp, but for family night, they used the marshmallows. Guess they don't trust the younger siblings. Or maybe it's the parents? I noticed that the BB guns were absent tonight too... Hmmm... maybe too many Dads wanted to give it a try last year.
The human foosball court was a great idea.
And the stomp rockets.
Henry really enjoyed camp this year - maybe it's just that he's getting older - but he sure had a fantastic week. Next year? Maybe overnight camp??

So glad Henry had fun! That is most definitely the goal. Just to put in my 2 cents, the reason why there was no archery and BB's is because the BSA threatened to shut us down if we offered it. Only registered scouts are allowed to participate in BB's and Archery. Since it was family day and siblings (and parents) wouldn't be allowed to do it we thought it kind of defeated the purpose. Huge bummer but glad they had fun anyway.

It has never been allowed, they have just decided to enforce it. So, only registered scouts were allowed to participate in BB's and Archery. Since it was family day, and siblings and parents wouldn't' be allowed to do it, we figured it would be best to just not have it at all. But glad you guys had fun anyway!
